29 March 2026 2026: Palm Sunday | Blessings on him who comes in the name of the Lord

Today's Mass has a different opening rite – in fact, there are three differing forms to choose from. But you could simply gather outside the church, or in an adjoining space, while the priest or deacon blesses the palms and proclaims the story of Jesus' procession into Jerusalem. Then all process into the church, waving palms aloft.

Songs for the procession include:
All glory, praise and honour
Hosanna Filio David – Tamblyn
Hosanna to the King – Baty
Hosanna to the Son of David – Schutte

Ride on, ride on in majesty
Sing Hosanna – Walker

Responsorial Psalm

Hymns and Songs
From heaven you came
God’s love for us – Feeley
Jesus, remember me – Taizé
Meditation on the Passion – Baty

My song is love unknown
O sacred head ill-used/sore wounded

Ours were the griefs he bore – Dean
The royal banners forward go

We remember – Haugen
