01 February 2026: 4 Year ABlessed are the poor in spirit

Every talent or skill we have comes from God: we can only boast about his gifts. When we recognise how poor we are, then we are rich indeed.

02 February 2026 (Monday): Presentation of the Lord | A light for all peoples

Forty​ days ago, Jesus was born: now we see him as the light to enlighten all peoples and to guide them on the way to salvation and glory.

08 January 2026: 5 Year A | They left everything they had and followed him

Both Isaiah​ and Simon Peter were overcome by their unworthiness in the sight of God. But that is not only a sign of God's grace: it is the way to his kingdom.

Both of these songs reflect the theme of the first reading: “Seek the Lord you humble of heart”. And both fit well with Ash Wednesday and the beginning of Lent – we could be using them again next week!

15 January 2026: 6 Year AHappy are those who trust in the Lord

It is all too easy to trust in our own possessions – and the more​ we have the easier it is. But they are all temporary. If we put our trust in the resurrection and live in its spirit, then we shall inherit eternal life.
